Reminder that the Hazmat Awareness Class will be conducted Tuesday, May 31st at the Blooming Grove Township Building (Route 739, 1 mile north of I-84- next to firehouse). Kick off time is 6:00 PM with PA State Fire Instructor Ray Arthur.

Those taking the course should make sure they have the required textbook:
Jones & Bartlett, Hazardous Materials Awareness & Operations
Hazmat Awareness Pro Board Testing will be conducted on June 2 (2 hrs) at the Shohola Firehouse starting at 6 PM sharp. Immediately following the Hazmat Awareness Test will begin Hazmat Operations Level.

SPECIAL VEHICLE RESCUE

(Dept. of Health Con-Ed course)

This course builds upon the knowledge and skills acquired in the Basic Vehicle Rescue course to prepare the student to deal with rescue situations involving larger vehicles such as buses and large trucks. A written examination is administered at the conclusion of this course for certification as a Special Vehicle Rescue Technician. This is an intense course which involves performing extrication procedures on buses and heavy trucks. Gear: TOG, Eye Protection Prerequisites: 18 years of age, BVRT

Emergency Vehicle Driver Training (EVOC)

This course is suitable for both novice and veteran emergency vehicle operators. This course provides instruction for emergency personnel who may be involved in operating emergency vehicles. Topics included: defensive driving, emergency response, vehicle maintenance, and a driver training obstacle course.

Gear: Apparatus

This course consists of two 4 hour classroom sessions (EOC) and one day practical driver skills at Avery Bus in Beach Lake.
